Day 1: Discovering Canaima
Embark on an adventure to the heart of Canaima National Park, home to the majestic Angel Falls. The tour begins at the shores of Canaima Lagoon, where you can witness four different waterfalls – Hacha, Wadaima, Ucaima, and Golondrina. There are a total of seven waterfalls to admire. After lunch in a local indigenous village, you will be taken through the lagoon in a canoe. Walk along the banks of pink sand and through the rainforest to reach Sapo or Hacha Falls. Depending on the season, you may even have the chance to swim in the lake before walking behind the falls, experiencing an incredible landscape through the powerful curtain of water. Enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for the night, accompanied by the gentle sound of crickets. Feel free to explore the Pemón community and immerse yourself in their culture.
Day 2: Journey to Angel Falls
After breakfast, board a motorized canoe to travel along the Carrao and Churún rivers towards the spectacular Angel Falls. The journey takes about 4 hours, allowing you ample time to soak in the lush landscape and the magnificent tepuys (table-top mountains) in the background. After an hour or so in Devil’s Canyon, you will finally arrive at Isla Ratón, where you will witness the falls cascading almost 1 km from the top of Auyántepui and flowing into the Churún River. From this point, embark on a one-hour hike through the rainforest to Laime viewpoint and then descend to the rocky pools at the base of the falls. Here, you can refresh yourself in the freshwater of Angel Falls. Spend the night in comfortable hammocks with a view of the world’s highest waterfall.
Day 3: Sunrise at Angel Falls
Today, wake up to the sound of nature and enjoy a leisurely morning surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Canaima. After breakfast, take some time to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the surroundings. You can explore the area or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere. Later, bid farewell to Canaima as you depart for your next destination, cherishing the memories and experiences you have gained during your unforgettable journey.
Day 4: Return Journey
After breakfast and coffee at the lodge/campsite, you will have a few hours of free time in the village of Canaima Lagoon before your final flight over the jungle to Caracas. No dinner included. End of service.
Day 5 (optional): Pozo Azul, Tepuys, Pemon Tribe
This excursion starts at the campsite lobby, where the hotel’s transportation will take you to Ucaima port, where you will embark on a curiara boat to navigate the Carrao River until reaching Caño Moroco, enjoying the fauna and flora of the impressive park. Once you disembark, you will begin a 35-minute walk through the savannah, where you can observe the majestic Tepuyes: Kurun, Kusari, and Kuravaina. At the end of the trail, you will reach a spring water pool called Kura’úpa, better known as Blue Well, where you can refresh yourself for a while before returning to the campsite.
